Tuesday 9th February - walk *** - Around Felixstowe – cold, breezy with light snow.

The bad weather continues here in Felixstowe with a little more snow in the night and light flurries during the day but the wind from the East is less today. We are now getting feed up with the cold weather which shows no end of stopping with temperatures around freezing until at least the weekend and we have had enough of this snow, there is a limit of how many pics you can take of snowy beach huts, also it is hard going walking on the Icey paths! Still after a morning at home Mag and I go out for our daily walk heading gingerly down to Langer Park which had loads of birds in the trees. Then onto the Manor Martello Tower and the end of the prom and noticed Al Wiz out windsurfing. With the wind cross on from the left the sea looked great but the wind was patchy and Al ended up in the very cold water several times, rather him than me, my poor old hands would not have liked it this cold, at least with the wind in this direction you could sail close to the shore! It was not much fun walking into a cold head wind and we were pleased to be wrapped up in our full winter gear! We were pleased to reach Bent Hill so we could get out of the wind as we headed to Tesco to get some bits for an old friend. In the end we were pleased to get home as it is knackering walking on lumpy ice. Looking forward to tomorrow when I get my covid jab, lets hope it works! Perhaps we can go for a walk somewhere before especially as I cleared snow off the van today!
